    What does the tension on the sail cables do to the house walls and tree it is connected to?

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV 12 дней назад

      Hi Norm, When properly installed each connection point of your shade sail will create around 150lbs of static force. This does not include wind loading. It's very important that whatever you are attaching to is strong enough to withstand these forces. As a general rule we recommend anchoring into a minimum 3" of structural material. Give us a call if you'd like to discuss further with one of our Shade Specialists - 1-855-899-8290

    How do you determine the length of the steel cable if the anchoring point is further away. Is it the length of the turnbuckle fully extended plus the distance you want to cover with about a foot to fold over the eyelet?

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV 26 дней назад

      Hi! Thanks for your question. If I'm understanding correctly, you're looking to use a tether cable with your Custom Shade Sail. The best way to do that is to measure between the eyelet locations, then tell us how long you want your tether cable to be (best if it's not more than 10-feet). We'll then design the sail to fit within your dimensions and using your tether cable length to fully tension the sail! For further discussion please send us an email at info@shadesailscanada.com

    I made the mistake of ordering a shade the width of my deck to attach to the wall. It does noes work because on one end is the eves or soffit. I wish someone would have had a video how to install over a deck with impediments. My goal was not only sun block, but also some water block. I set the out post in the wrong place as well. Example shade is 14x 14. I place the plat 14 apart. The shade flapped in the wind, next day bad wind storm came up. So diy is a bust for me. Make a video on where to place the eyes based on size of shade over a deck please. Maybe someone else want waste their time and money.

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
